Balanced Life?
by ShawnS inmy husband who was raised as a witness & has recently considered getting baptised brought home a "personal study schedule".
this study schedule was given to him by an elder and clearly states at the top "do not post to any electronic service such as the internet" - that alone makes me wonder - why are they hiding it??.
anyway, the schedule breaks down every day, clearly states how much time you should be spending reading the bible & jw literature each day through the week.

An observation from fading
by fadinfast inmy wife and i have been fading / faded for many years now, it was made easier by an elder 'balls up' over a very serious matter [they say "you have a right to be angry, but you shouldn't loose jehovah's favour by staying away from meetings, buuuut!!?.
] although i have reacted quite strongly to some elders who came by, even admitting to getting court cases off the 'internet', it was passed as 'he's angry'.
i had got to the point where i had decided i didn't care, i would just speak even more openly than i had been [and properly be d/f] when i observed the following happening:.

Broken Promises
I said to my wife "if that's an example of the extra love and Holy Spirit that breed is supposed to have/ show then I see more from our dog".
LOL!
I had a similar experience out shopping last week. Bumped into 2 JWs I've known all my life. The checkout boy gave me a more sincere smile than those two hypocrites could muster.

Thoughts and Opinions on the VAA?
by arko_n9ne inas i've posted multiple times before, i am new to many of the aspects of wts scandals so a couple weeks ago, i was on youtube and heard of a group concept from tim kilgore called the vaa (vast apostate army).. personally, i like the concept of former witnesses and anti-watchtower proponents uniting to stand against the wrong doings of the organization.
i would like their rally in a few years to succeed.
if things look promising enough, i more than likely will go.. but honestly, i don't know much about the vaa, and since it's not a concept with that "new car smell" i imagine people have more infor to offer.. i saw on older posts that witnesses are not fans of the idea of anyone banding together en masse against them, as they go to the lengths of calling the vaa a terrorist organization (though no acts of violence or tyranny have been committed or threatened).. so if anyone can offer insight into this group, it would help a man know if it's a group worth rallying with.. .

FWIW, I didn't notice the spelling mistake until it was pointed out.
The information in the original post is enough to take all of your attention.

If Steven Unthank hired a lawyer, who would pay the high lawyer fees? The court case isn't going to result in any financial gain for Unthank. It would be very difficult in this financial market to find a lawyer willing to work pro bono in a case against an American religion.
Another thing to think of, Unthank lives in a country town, not a large city with heaps of experienced lawyers. He is also self-employed, and most likely not eligible for govt-assisted legal aid either.
The freezing of Unthanks's accounts is very worrysome indeed. Provided we're getting the whole story from Unthank, it only goes to show how unscrupulous the WTS can be.

Regardless of your beliefs (or lack of) the book is good in explaining how the WTS twists scriptures to support their own doctrines. I haven't read it for a while, but I should so I can get familiar with it all for next time a JW knocks on my door.

I left quietly and still maintained contact with my family. It has been strained of course, but I think I would have killed myself if I'd stayed in.
As far as your kids are concerned, pull the headship rank and use it to teach your kids the real truth about life. That there is no Armageddon and a big Sky Daddy isn't gonna kill you nor them for not being a member of a small Christian sect.
It's a tough decision, and I wish you well.
